Guidance for Agencies
Under the Forced Marriage (Civil Protection) Act 2007 statutory guidance was introduced for the safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults in cases of forced marriage. The Right to Choose: Multi-agency Statutory Guidance for dealing with Forced Marriage is part of this document. It sets out rules for any person, organisation or agency dealing with forced marriage victims. The rules are meant to protect the victims’ welfare and safety.
